|The 2013 GSRMC Fall Foliage Tour
GSMRC Hosts Kittattiny Mountain Fall Cruise
The Garden State Region Mustang Club hosted the Kittatinny Mountain Fall Cruise on October 27, 2013. Turnout was outstanding! Some 47 Mustangs, belonging to GSRMC club members and members of the
NJStangers club, attended the event.
Participants met at the Cracker Barrel in Mt. Arlington and left for the 102 mile trip through the rural back roads of New Jersey and Pennsylvania. The cruise first took us to Culver Lake, and included an unforgettable
stop at the overlook at the top of Sunrise Mountain. We passed forests and farms and barns, including one with the iconic Mail Pouch advertisement blazoned on the side. We cruised past small towns and the
historic town of Lafayette. The route took us over twisting and winding roads, along the Delaware River, across one of the three last privately owned toll bridges in the United States, on to Dingman’s Ferry,
Pennsylvania and back into New Jersey.
The overlook stop was memorable. Our 47 Mustangs filled the parking lot and some of us had to park on the road. A group picture was taken and will be available at a later date. People pulled out their cell phones
to snap pictures of us as we paraded by. The weather was ideal and the fall foliage was beautiful. The trip ended with a late lunch stop at The Chatterbox in Augusta.
Special thanks to Bob Acker for organizing this wonderful event, and to North Jersey Cruises (NJC) for assistance with the directions. We all look forward to the Fall Cruise again next year.
