GSRMC Bowling Tournament & Buffet
Sunday, March 13, 2011 at Boonton Lanes

The Garden State Region Mustang Car Club held its 8th Annual Bowling Challenge, at Boonton Lanes on a nice late
winter Sunday afternoon.  The attendance, while not beating the record number of 40 who signed up for the 2008
tournament, certainly reflected the desire to get out of our houses for something car related after this winter’s
horrible storms!

This year, we had 29 bowlers on seven lanes, plus another four ‘eaters’, doubling as the GSRMC cheerleaders (we
need to work on the pom-poms).  Included in this count were six ‘junior’ bowlers.

Here are the actual results, by bowler (names were omitted to protect reputations):  81, 96, 84, 106, 112, 98, 142, 111,
106, 117, 53, 117, 131, 145, 176, 56, 66, 72, 92, 65, 83, 112, 82, 70, 85, 95, 54, 82, 84, 97, 115, 100, 105, 50, 72, 196, 139, 163,
118, 56, 88, 137, 116, 115, 122, 93, 116, 123, 122, 62, 98, 72, 110, 72, 64, 122, 133, 161, 109, 119, 144, 90, 152, 56, & 102.  Did
you find YOUR scores here?

In case you are interested, the average score was 102.8.  How did YOU do?  While the bowling scores were mixed, it
seemed that as a group, we had a lot of fun trying to stay out of the gutters and hit the pins at the end of those really
long alleys!

Thanks to Treasurer Jim, who had prepared three “special” trophies recognizing positive achievements in GSRMC’s
world of bowling, and for taking a lot of pictures, as did Frank Costanza, for the newsletter.

This year’s winners were: Derek (travelling with the Costanzo’s) with the Junior’s High Game of 112, with an
honorable mention to Michael Peterson.  Wanda Costanzo scored a 144 to capture the Women’s High Game, and
honorable mention to Mary Hartman.  Capturing the Men’s High Game with a high score of 196 was yours truly, with
honorable mention going to Joseph Schwartz.

I guess its time to go back out to the garage, store the bowling bag, and get out the car care bag!  Thanks to all who
came out, and to Advil, for their pain relief products!
